Sharon Tovey

Sharon Tovey is a Lead Research Nurse at the Clinical Research Centre, Southmead Hospital in Bristol, UK, where she manages a successful and well-established research team. She is employed by the UK National Institute for Health and Research for increasing diabetes research across the southwest region of the UK. Sharon and her team were awarded the Pharma Times Research Site of the Year in 2009. She has also worked as a diabetes bariatric specialist nurse, linking the two specialities and has recently completed her masters in obesity management. 

More recently, Sharon has been working part-time in primary care, supporting people with diabetes in the community, to help manage patients with complex diabetes. She has a particular interest and experience in recruitment and retention particularly in long-term studies for people with diabetes. Sharon has been a member of the Global Patient retention panel for LEADER, PIONEER and SOUL. She has also worked as a country lead site co-ordinator, to help implement retention programmes within the UK. Sharon has a wide range of experience with Semaglutide, including short and long term studies.
