Sanjay Kalra

Sanjay Kalra, MBBS MD DM (AIIMS New Delhi), is an endocrinologist based at Bharti Hospital, Karnal, India. Former Executive Editor of the Indian Journal of Endocrinology & Metabolism (IJEM), he is currently Executive Editor of Thyroid Research and Practice (TRP), and Associate Editor of Diabetic Medicine (UK). He has worked as Principal Investigator in over 50 phase 1, 2 and 3 trials. As Vice President of the South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies (SAFES), he works to spread endocrine and diabetes awareness in the region, and beyond. In his spare time, he indulges in his favorite hobby, the Punjabi folk dance bhangra.


Silver Bahendeka

Dr. Silver Bahendeka, MD PhD, is an Hon. Senior Consultant Physician, diabetes and endocrinology, at St. Francis Hospital, Nsambya, Kampala, Uganda, and Honorary Professor of Medicine, Mother Kevin Post Graduate Medical School, Uganda Martyrs University, Kampala, Uganda. He is the current Chair, East Africa Diabetes Study Group (EADSG) and founder member of the Africa Diabetes Congress (ADC).

Dr. Bahendeka is the past Chair, International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Africa Region, 2009–2013. He has been the lead principal investigator for the Uganda National Non-Communicable Disease Survey done in 2014 and he sits on the Steering and Multisectoral Committee for Non-Communicable Diseases, Ministry of Health, Uganda Government.
