Coronary heart disease and risk factors in NIDDM: Experience from the United Kingdom Prospective Diabetes Study

Abstract

The United Kingdom Prospective Diabetes Study (UKPDS) is a randomised, controlled trial of different therapies for patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes (NIDDM). The study, which recruited 5102 newly diagnosed diabetic patients between 1977 and 1991 will close out at the end of 1997. Publication of the main results will be in late 1998.
