Julian Hamilton-Shield is a Professor of Diabetes and Metabolic Endocrinology at the University of Bristol, UK. He is also an Honorary Consultant Paediatrician at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. He leads a research theme in nutrition relating to chronic childhood disease and is Industry Lead of a National Institute for Health Research, Biomedical Research Centre in Bristol. He has research interests in the causes and treatment of all forms of childhood diabetes, obesity, later cardiovascular risk, and lipid metabolism.
