Sumera Ahmed, MD BC-ADM, is a board-certified Internist and Diabetologist. She is an Assistant Professor at Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Sumera completed her diabetology fellowship under the renowned professor Late Dr. Robert J. Tanenberg at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. She has extensive experience as a hospitalist working at a community based non-profit healthcare organization. She currently serves the underserved population of Solano County in California as a diabetologist.
Dr. Ahmed has contributed to the American Diabetes Association's publication on Atypical Diabetes. Her interests are hospital/inpatient management of diabetes, diabetes in chronic kidney disease and patients on dialysis and ketosis-prone diabetes.
