Pam Dyson

Pam Dyson, PhD RD, graduated from Leeds University in 1977 and has been involved with the nutritional management of diabetes and obesity for over 30 years. She began her career with the Medical Research Council at the Dunn Nutrition Unit in Cambridge and then joined the NHS as a specialist diabetes dietitian. She is currently employed by the University of Oxford as a diabetes research dietitian and successfully completed her PhD in 2010. In 2008, she was appointed CEO of the Oxford Health Alliance, a charity set up to combat the epidemic of non-communicable disease.

Dr. Dyson's main interests are in the delivery of diabetes dietary education, behavioral aspects of lifestyle change, eating disorders and weight management. She has a particular interest in establishing the evidence base for dietary strategies for diabetes management, and is currently co-chairing the Diabetes UK Nutrition Working Group, which is responsible for revising, updating and publishing the nutrition guidelines for the prevention and treatment of diabetes.
