Abstract
Foot complications in diabetes can significantly impair a patient’s mobility by either destroying the foot’s functional architecture or causing a major amputation.
In this chapter the key ideas behind the assessments and goals in the process of trying to optimise the patient’s future quality of life, following major amputation (amputation above the ankle), are outlined and discussed.
