Dr Christel Hendrieckx is the Deputy Director of the Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes (ACBRD) (a partnership between Diabetes Victoria and Deakin University). She is a clinical psychologist trained in Belgium and UK. Christel has been active in the diabetes area for over 30 years.
In 2011 she moved to Melbourne Australia to take up a research position with the newly established ACBRD. Her research projects focus on the users’ experiences of new technologies in type 1 diabetes management and the psychological impact of hypoglycaemia. She is also actively involved in training health professionals about the emotional side of diabetes.
