Nurses pay a weekly price

By rights, your pay should have gone up 2.5 per cent this week. But the fact is that unless you work in Scotland, you will have to wait until November for the full amount, even though the independent pay review body recommended 2.5 per cent from April 1. Nurses will get just 1.5 per cent now and a further 1 per cent in November. As most readers know, taken across the year this averages out to a below inflation award of 1.9 per cent for 2007.
